Have you ever spent time and energy recruiting a new volunteer, only to be left frustrated and left scrambling to pick up the pieces? Have you been left thinking that volunteers may not be worth the time it takes to invest in them?

Through an interactive discussion, we are going to learn what it takes to build a volunteer on-ramp. Empowering volunteers to be invested by encouraging them to learn about the heart behind your mission. You will learn the first steps on how to create a culture that encourages and supports continuous volunteer learning, critical thinking, and risk-taking with new ideas. With the goal to engage more people, raise more money, and fulfill your mission.

 

Speaker: Catherine Draeger-Pederson, Consultant, Loving Venti

Catherine (Draeger) Pederson, MA, is a nonprofit entrepreneur with over 17 years of nonprofit experience and specializes in empowering people to make a difference in their community.  She lives in Washington Heights, Milwaukee, with her husband and three children. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Ten Outstanding Young America's (TOYA) award in 2015 from the United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees) and the Philanthropic 5 recipient in 2016 from United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Catherine holds a Master's Degree in Christian Studies with an emphasis in leadership from Trinity International University. Currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Leadership, Learning, and Service from Cardinal Stritch.County. She is the author of Faith, Hope, and Love: When the World is Not as It Should Be and has been published in Just Between Us magazine.
